House robbers attack boys

Two boys in Carletonville Extension 9 were traumatised when house robbers confronted them last week.

According to the police in Carletonville, the boys, aged 13 and 18, were home alone in Baard Street on 24 February when the incident occurred. They were relaxing when two unknown men suddenly forced their front door open at about 12:30. As the suspects stormed in, they noticed the boys. They grabbed the youngsters and shoved them into a bedroom. The attackers covered them with a duvet before searching the house for valuables. They took three cell phones and an amplifier before running from the scene. The police suspect the robbers had initially just planned a burglary but attacked the boys when they found them inside the home. At the time of the newspaper going to print the suspects were still at large.
