According to statistics released by the Gauteng department of health this afternoon there are now 4 258 residents of the Merafong municipal area who tested positive for the virus. This is 27 more than yesterday.
Of these people 3 868 already recovered while 105 residents died of Covid-19. Two of these deaths occurred during the past day.
In the meantime there are also now 11 650 residents of Mogale City (the Krugersdorp-area) who are infected with the virus. Of them 10 814 have recovered while 311 have died.
There are also 6 347 people of the Rand West City municipal area (the Randfontein and Westonaria area) who tested positive for Covid-19. Of these people, 5 831 have recovered while 174 have died.
