Thugs rob businessman

The owner of a business in East Driefontein became the victim of robbers last week.

According to the police in Carletonville, the owner was busy with routine tasks in the shop when the incident took place on Saturday, 21 November. At around 07:30, a man walked in and asked to buy a cell phone battery. The owner told the “customer” to bring the phone to him and the man returned a short while later. The owner was still busy assisting him when two other men also arrived at the store.
One remained at the door while the other walked in. Suddenly, the man who had walked in closed the door and pointed a firearm at the owner. The two newcomers and the man who said he wanted a battery grabbed R300 and five cell phones that included a Nokia 5, Samsung S8 and Huawei P8 Lite.
They then walked out, pulled the shop’s security gate shut and ran from the scene. Police later arrested the three suspects.
