According to statistics released by the Gauteng department of health a short while ago, there are now 2 803 residents of the Merafong City local municipal area who have been infected with the new coronavirus. Of them 2 404 have so far recovered.
In the meantime there are 3 476 cases in Rand West, of which 2 919 have recovered and 6 934 in Mogale City, of which 5 518 have recovered.
Up to date 240 patients in the West Rand have died from Covid-19.
