Merafong’s coronavirus cases now more than 2 700

Although the daily increases in new coronavirus cases are smaller than a few weeks ago the number of infected people is still climbing.

According to statistics released by the Gauteng department of health late yesterday afternoon, there are now 2 703 residents in the Merafong City municipal area who have tested positive for the disease. Of them 2 320 have recovered from the disease. In the meantime there are 6 604 infected people in Mogale City, of which 5 301 have recovered and 3 295 in Rand West City,  of which 2 798 have recovered. A total of 219 patients have died from Covid-19 in the West Rand.
