According to figures released by the Gauteng Department of Health, there are now 1 464 people who tested positive for the disease in the area. This is much higher than the 1 351 of the previous day.
A total of 535 residents in our area have already recovered from the disease.
There are now a total of 6 078 people who tested positive for the disease in the West Rand, of which 6 078 recovered. So far 58 patients have died from Covid-19.
Elsewhere in the district, Mogale City now has 3 395 cases, of which 572 have recovered, while Rand West City has 1 533, of which 305 have recovered.
In the meantime the number of coronavirus cases in Gauteng passed 100 000 yesterday.
