Thieves strike local school

A local school also became one of the statistics of schools in Gauteng burgled during the lockdown.

According to the communication officer of the police in Carletonville, WO Peter Masooa, an employee at Laerskool Blyvooruitzicht made sure that everything was in order when he last went to check the school’s premises at around 14:00 on 12 April.
At around 11:00 on 1 May, how-ever, the caretaker drove past the school and noticed that some pali-sade fencing was missing. He called the employee who had locked the school up, and he rushed over to have a look.
They found that 20 palisade lengths, which, according to the police report, was worth around R100,000 had been stolen.
