Various accidents cause havoc during past week

Various accidents occurred on roads in the area during the past week.

A bus collided with a light motor vehicle on the R559, approximately 12 km from Carletonville, on 30 April.

The light motor vehicle allegedly drove away after the incident, leaving four of the five passengers in the bus injured. One of these patients was critically injured and his leg had to be amputated. Local authorities were on scene for investigation but the cause of the collision is still unknown.

One person was killed and four were seriously injured when another taxi collided with a Land Rover at the junction of Annan Road and P111 on 2 May. Nine people sustained minor injuries. ER24’s advanced rescue services transported the victims to hospital. O

n 5 May, an accident involving a Quantum taxi and a white Corolla occurred on the R500 road on the way to Fochville. The driver of the Quantum taxi had apparently lost control and collided with the car that was in the process of overtaking it.

Both drivers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.
