An accident involving two trucks occurred in the late afternoon on Wednesday, 19 August around 17:20 on the Khutsong road. According to the truck driver who was carrying three other passengers he was coming from the Welverdiend direction and another truck was driving behind him on high speed. When the driver who was driving in front attempted to turn right towards Khutsong South, the other truck that was travelling behind him hit them from behind and the two trucks overturned. Both drivers and three passengers were taken to hospital. Another accident took place on 21 August at the R500 and R54 crossing where two vehicles collided at the intersection. A 21-year-old man who was in a critical condition was rushed to Vereeniging Medi Clinic. The other occupant was treated on the scene by Netcare and then also transported to Vereeniging for further treatment.
