Merafong appoints various contractors for projects

The Merafong City Local Municipality says it has already approved contractors to perform work at projects throughout the municipal area.

One of these contracts is the upgrade of the Greenspark/Fochville/Kokosi reservoir.
This entails erecting a high-quality security fence and replacing leaking pipes, reservoir overflow devices and pressure reducing valves.
Contractors have also been appointed at the Greenspark main outfall sewer to attend to capacity and back ponding of sewerage into Greenspark, Fochville and Kokosi.
The Kokosi Ext. 6 outfall sewer will also be upgraded while the Losberg Industrial area to Kokosi Ext. 6 link water line will be built to address current and future water demand.
Meanwhile, the rehabilitation of the Carletonville reservoir and main water feed will now also proceed while the municipality has approved the work on the Khutsong/Elijah Barayi regional waste water treatment plant.
Work will also be done at the Wedela waste water treatment plant and the pressure reducing valves (PRVs) and level control valves at the Wedela, Khutsong and Carletonville reservoirs and bulk water lines will be refurbished.
