According to the complainant, he was walking on a gravel road near the R501, towards Driefontein’s No. 2 Shaft when the incident took place. As he was passing a vandalised building, three unknown men in Basotho blankets and balaclavas approached him. One of them pulled out a gun, pointed it at him and demanded cigarettes.
The victim was about to hand them the cigarettes when one of the suspects grabbed him and the others kept pointing the firearm at him. They threatened to shoot him if he tried to run away and took off his Converse All Star tackies. As they were about to search him, a security vehicle drove past and the suspects ran away.
