Fast action by the Police recently ensured that a group of house robbers did not get very far.

According to the spokesman of the Police in Carletonville, Warrant Officer Peter Masooa, police stopped and searched a suspicious vehicle that was busy exiting the town. The two alert policemen searched the vehicle and discovered stolen property that led them back to a robbery that took place at 120 Dolomite Street on 19 June.

Four suspects, driving a white Honda Ballade, had apparently threatened two women with knives and tied them up. They loaded the plasma TV, music system, cell phones and clothes into their vehicle and fled the scene.

All the items that had been taken were recovered and all the four suspects were arrested.
