SA Reserve Bank leaves repo rate unchanged

The repo rate is the benchmark interest rate at which the central bank lends money to other banks.

The South African Reserve Bank on Thursday left the repo rate unchanged at 6.75 percent.

In its first decision on rates for the new year, the bank opted to keep the rate steady after a 25-basis points increase in November.

The repo rate is the benchmark interest rate at which the central bank lends money to other banks.
