Although the company has made a name for itself in the car, truck and mine auction industry, PVA is equally adept at auctioning assets – and property – across the board.
“Our property division specialises in the valuation and disposal of properties ranging from commercial, industrial, residential and agricultural properties to sectional title, hospitality, share-block, residential and industrial townships and deceased, insolvent and sequestrated estates,” said PVA’s Jaco du Toit, head of the property division
“Although we specialise in auctions, we also offer an experienced private property team that offers supporting services such as rentals, sales and the arrangement of city council enquiries and property deed searches,” he explained.
Once commissioned, PVA provides accurate, market-related appraisals, following which the company embarks on a comprehensive marketing campaign. This entails firstly identifying the relevant target audience such as the general public, high-net worth individuals, major corporations, property holding companies and public sector entities. If relevant, PVA also alerts their own comprehensive database of buyers to potential property opportunities.
Du Toit explained how advertising typically takes the form of a strategic combination of outdoor, online and print advertising and virtual walk-throughs, all of which give the seller the best possible exposure.
“Our strong online presence also increases our access to buyers all over South Africa and beyond, which, given the current exchange rate is particularly advantageous for foreign investors,” he said.
Come auction day, PVA typically makes use of a combination of live and real-time, online bidding, a mechanism which PVA introduced to South Africa in 2012.
Online bidding enables bidders from anywhere in the world to bid from the comfort of their own desks or homes.
