Bridgestone to sponsor 2023 World Solar Challenge

Solar and environmentally friendly power systems and technology are very much on everyone’s lips as we endeavor to resolve the power supply challenges of the future.

As a leader in tyre technology, the Bridgestone Corporation announced it would continue its title sponsorship of the 2023 World Solar Challenge.

“Our continued support of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge amplifies three of our core focus areas by delivering value to society, our customers and future generations in energy, ecology and efficiency. We want to achieve carbon-neutrality and work with 100% recycled and renewable materials by 2050,” said Koji Takagi, management board member and chief sustainability officer of Bridgestone Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA).

Bridgestone EMIA will also be supporting nine university teams in its region.

The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2023 will take place in October and will bring together teams from around the world to compete in a challenge that spans over 3 000km across the heart of Australia, showcasing their engineering skills and commitment to sustainability.
