New Adventures of Robin Hood: tickets up for grabs

Narrated by the Sheriff of Nottingham, this adaptation is suitable for children and adults.

With school holidays coming up, parents looking for ideas to entertain the children can head over to the Mardi Gras Theatre at Carnival City to enjoy The Adventures of Robin Hood.

The Adventures of Robin Hood, which runs from December 10 to 13, is based on a script by JM Brink but has been adapted and rewritten by writer Danielle Retief to suit a broader audience of children and adults.

This production will look at the Sheriff of Nottingham’s perspective on Robin Hood and Prince John.

Usually the Sheriff is the villain, but he becomes a narrator in this piece.

The story points out the characters’ flaws and mistaken, preconceived notions about each other.

The play brings together the classic Prince of Thieves characters, including Maid Marian, Little John, Friar Tuck, Will Scarlett and Martha the Nurse.

The moral of this action-packed adventure will demonstrate to young minds that a good team is made up of a variety of people who each have unique and brilliant skills – that mutual respect is the only way you can achieve success.
