Dance production to dazzle

The performance will feature traditional dance, gumboot dance, pantsula and modern dance.

The City of Ekurhuleni, in partnership with iAfrika Theatre Education, will tomorrow (Saturday) set the Germiston Theatre stage alight during the annual Ingoma Music and Dance theatre production.

Art lovers will be treated to electrifying scenes of traditional dance, gumboot dance, pantsula and modern dance throughout the two-hour long musical show.

Well-known guru in the arts industry, Siphiwe Nkosi of favorite telenovela ‘Isibaya’ will be the narrator of this theatre production.

The Ingoma Music and Dance theatre production is written and directed by John Lata an art industry’s great, armed with more than 35 years of experience in the entertainment industry and wears many caps as actor, writer, director, producer and composer.

Forming part of the cast on the day will be the commissioned group, Mazibuyel’ Emasisweni also known as Taxido, which over the years have won international awards.

Five art groups from across the city, having excelled during the city-wise auditions were selected to form part of the musical production.

Besides earning a spot in the cast, each group received R20 000.

The performance starts at 4pm at the theatre in President Street in the Germiston CBD.

An entrance fee will be charged.
