Fans of the Afrikaans alternative rock band, Fokofpolisiekar, can catch them live when they hit the stage for Rock on the Lawns at Carnival City on March 16.

Headlining the outdoor music fest is the iconic Indie Pop/Rock band The Cure, with a string of top local artists also in the mix.

The band’s first EP, As Jy Met Vuur Speel Sal Jy Brand, featured the track Hemel op die Platteland which became the first Afrikaans song to be officially playlisted on national radio station 5FM.

At that stage their EP was available only at their shows or sold in secret.

The band’s first complete album, Lugsteuring, was released in 2004, followed in 2005 with another EP, Monoloog in Stereo.
