Juanita du Plessis and family bring Meer as ‘n Melodie to Carnival City

Combine the talent from these three artists who not only share family bonds, but a deep love for music and you’re guaranteed the best the Afrikaans music industry has to offer.

One of South Africa’s best loved artists, Juanita du Plessis and her talented children, who are each well-known artists in their own right, will take to the stage at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on March 30.

Six years ago the sound of this family trio’s hit Kaalvoetkinders played on several radio stations and was broadcast to the nation.

Immediately there was an overwhelming response from listeners, not only enquiring about the song, but begging to see the three of them performing together.

With almost 50 exclusive concerts attended by over 50 000 fans under their belts, the “queen of Afrikaans music” and her two children, Franja du Plessis and Ruan Josh, have decided that it is time to do “something really big” and will be bringing their larger than life show Meer as ‘n Melodie to Carnival City.

Juanita has released more than 30 albums and DVDs and boasts a grand total of 2.6 million units sold.

This is the most any female artist has ever sold in the history of South Africa.

Furthermore, this dynamic artist whose voice is comparable to that of an angel, has single-handedly released more than 80 Top 10 hits and has brought to fans more than 3 000 on stage performances.

Franja du Plessis, who looks just like her mother but with a unique set of talent and capabilities all her own, has just released her second album.

Much like her role model mother, she is the first female artist to reach gold status on sales of her debut album and was also named Female Artist of the Year 2017 at the Ghoema Awards.

Juanita’s son, Ruan Josh, has also released his debut album and boasts four number one hit singles which have been broadcast on South African radio stations.

He is also a familiar face on the SABC 2 series Klein Begin.

Combine the talent from these three artists who not only share family bonds, but a deep love for music and you’re guaranteed the best the Afrikaans music industry has to offer.

Journey with this family through their lifetime of loving music and winning hearts as their passion unfolds on stage and their popular hits rock the Big Top with fans singing and swaying along.

The show starts at 7.30pm.
