Come have a giggle with Harry and the Gupta

Do not miss this rib-tickling hysterical comedy show by Harry and the Gupta.

South African entertainment legends Vikash Mathura and Jack Devnarain have teamed up on stage for the first time ever with their hysterical comedy show Harry and The Gupta and they’re bringing the tour to Carnival City in September.

The two have been friends for over 30 years and have shared a mutual admiration for each other’s work, but have never collaborated on a project like this before.

In Harry and The Gupta, Mathura, of Peru and Bala fame, reprises his role of “Harry”, a brash Durban entrepreneur who has become a favourite among many theatre patrons.

Devnarain, of Isidingo fame, plays the suave and infamous businessman “Rajesh Gupta”, a character that has not exactly endeared himself to the South African public.

The show is set in the mythical Saxonwold Shebeen, where the story begins with Harry (Durban’s ‘Con of Cons’) meeting Rajesh (Joburg’s ‘Don of Dons’) for the first time.

Their chance encounter results in a series of comic misunderstandings.

The show then takes the audience on a hilarious journey as these protagonists discuss anecdotes from their respective lives, whilst sharing a drink … or three.

The interaction between Harry and Rajesh Gupta, who are from opposite ends of society, makes for rib-tickling hysterical comedy.

The famous uncles “Peru and Bala” also make a special appearance in this intriguing tale.

Harry and the Gupta is a Top Dawg co-production and will be playing to audiences in a national tour of at least 30 shows.

Don’t miss Harry and the Gupta at Carnival City on September 7 and 8.

The show starts at 8pm.
