Divas to sizzle on stage

American singer Karyn White and SAs own unite for Divas 2018.

Divas 2018 shimmies to Gauteng for a one night only concert at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on July 27.

This year’s show features international, award-winning diva Karyn White, as well as South Africa’s own divas Sasha Lee Davids, Paxton Fielies and Unathi Msengana.

Brought to South Africa for Divas 2018, Karyn White etched her name in music history with her smash hit song, the female anthem, Superwoman.

The song made international waves, selling over a million units, being certified gold and named the Billboard R&B Song of the Year in 1989.

More recently, White has released a new movie and soundtrack, Gale and the Storm, a story loosely based on Karyn’s life and manager Jay King, legendary music producer and founder of Grammy Award-winning group Club Nouveau.

The movie’s synopsis revolves around a revolutionary music producer who links up with a legendary soul singer and tries to convince her to sing again.

White executive produced, co-wrote and starred in the film.

The soundtrack is a brilliant fusion of cosmic funk, soul, rock and R&B.

White recorded the songs in record-breaking two-and-a-half days while filming the movie in a seven-day period.

She delivers an array of fiery and soulful melodies while belting out every note and inflexion with power.
