#TBT: What games 90s kids played

Before there was FIFA, Need for Speed and Far Cry, 90s kids played pixelated PC games, none of which were online nor many that were more than one player.

Siblings would fight each other for a turn to play on their DOS computers, sometimes waking up early on the weekends to get to the PC first.

In the 90s, games were played primarily using a basic keyboard and mouse (no gaming mouses here) and, if you were one of the lucky ones, you had a joystick.

Here are some of the games 90s kids played:

  1. Ski Free

This was one of the most entertaining games during the decade. Kids had a blast trying to dodge the abominable snowman.

  1. Doom

Doom set the tone for many first-person shooter games that today’s kids play.

  1. Scooter’s Magic Castle

This game starred a little elf like character taking players through his castle where kids got to do various activities. This educational game was sneakily disguised as something fun.

  1. Diablo

Diablo was one of the first role playing games where players gathered weapons and potions among other items during their quest.

  1. Eagle Eye Mysteries

Kids got to play detective with twins Jake and Jennifer Eagle. Another educational game designed to get kids to learn while having fun.
