Lisbon legend comes to Emperors

Carlos do Carmo, master of the Portuguese Fado music genre, will perform for one night only at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace on Saturday.

Recognised worldwide for being the first to incorporate an upright bass and orchestra into his act, the Latin Grammy Award winner forever transformed the genre and is widely respected for his contribution to Portuguese music.

Having toured the world from Paris to Madrid and Montreal, do Carmo is finally making his way to South Africa for his debut performance here.

He will be joined on stage by the Ekurhuleni Symphonic Orchestra and there will also be a special appearance by the talented Tembisa High School Choir.

The show starts at 8pm.
