Get ready for the final slide

The 2017 championship has seen stiff competition and it all culminates during the last weekend battle.

Drifting fans can brace for a humdinger of a showdown when the hotly contested SupaDrift Series comes to a roaring crescendo with the Series 06 finals at Carnival City on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30.

The 2017 championship has seen stiff competition and it all culminates during the last weekend battle.

“This finale will set the tone for next season, with close tandems and insane driving leading up to the final prize-giving,” said Mikey Skelton, XS Promotions marketing director and co-founder of the SupaDrift Series.

Drivers like Achilles Tyres’ Jim McFarlane will certainly bring the challenge to the rest of the talented field.

Challenger, Paolo Gouveia, a Prepsol driver, has much to prove in this final round for 2017.

Gouveia says he has massive respect for his competitors and knows he has to make it count on the blacktop on the 30th (competition day).

Gavin Puren, who stands a chance to be on the podium after the final event says: “Nobody can afford to rest.

“It’s the most competitive drift season yet and anything can happen.

“The current track layouts are so challenging and therefore we will have to be on point to impress the judges and keep the competition at bay.”

“When it comes to ‘motortainment’ and burning tyres, this is it,” said series partner, Achilles Tyres’ Johanetta Greeff.

“It’s a motorsport with serious entertainment value.”

Carnival City’s marketing manager, Michelle Smith said the SupaDrift Series has tremendous spectator value and this culminating event promises all out, skidding action.

“Be there for action-packed ‘motortainment’ at its very best.”

Tickets are available at the door.
