Show delivers fun lessons

The show aims to entertain but also to educate the audience in various basic life skills.

Little ones are in for a treat when Sonja and Tjokker take to the stage at Carnival City’s Mardi Gras Theatre on Saturday, July 22.

The Sonja and Tjokker live performance is a 60-minute action-packed, fun-filled, bilingual, musical theatre production for pre-primary and primary school children.

Sonja Herholdt is a well-known South African singer and Tjokker, the big brown fluffy dog, is her best doggy friend.

Together the duo has travelled all over South Africa since 2012 to entertain and educate children with their interactive music production.

During the show they perform both new and well-known children’s songs and invite the audience to participate with actions and dance movements.

The show aims to entertain but also to educate the audience in various basic life skills.

Topical lessons about such things as saving water and not littering are addressed in creative and fun ways.

They also make clever use of various props, to ensure a multi-sensory creative experience.

Tjokker brings lots of humour and laughter to the performance with his clever take on life and understanding of what is right and wrong.

This production appeals to the inner child of any age or language.

The show starts at 11am.
