There is nothing despicable about this launch

Fans will get to meet the famed Despicable Me characters and even have their photos taken with them.

Local fans of Despicable Me can look forward to rubbing shoulders with Gru and one of his Minions, Mel, at Carnival City on June 16 and 17.

The colourful characters will be visiting the local casino and nine other Sun International properties in anticipation of Despicable Me 3’s cinematic launch in South Africa on June 30.

Fans will get to meet the famed Despicable Me characters and even have their photos taken with them.

Sun International’s teams across the country is also conspiring to make the experiences even more memorable with fun-filled activities and other surprises.

The worldwide blockbuster introduced audiences around the globe to the super villain Gru and his mischievous Minions.

After becoming a father to orphans Margo, Edith and Agnes, Gru ultimately gave up his life of crime and turned from super bad to super dad.

In Despicable Me 2, Gru was recruited by top agent Lucy to join the Anti-Villain League.

Gru thought romance was out of his reach until he fell hard for his super spy partner, now wife, Lucy.

In the third instalment, Gru, Lucy and the girls return for a globe hopping adventure featuring new characters and some big surprises.

There is a new super villain on the scene whose exploits cause Lucy and Gru to lose their jobs.

The Minions, who are desperate for a life of crime, decide to leave Gru and go off in search of a new Big Boss.

We also discover Gru has a twin brother in the shape of Dru – fantastically wealthy, charming and sophisticated, with a head of fabulous golden hair.

Despicable Me 3 promises audiences new characters and new plot twists – all delivered in a sweet and subversive style of comedy.
