Miss Heritage SA to take place at Carnival City

"I believe I was handed these honours to be a role model to our next generation, to encourage others to embrace their heritage while making a difference in South Africa.”

Sherianne Pillay (22), Miss Heritage Gauteng, will represent Gauteng at the Miss Heritage SA 2016 taking place at Carnival City.

“Having the privilege of being crowned Miss Heritage Gauteng 2016, Miss India Gauteng 2015 and Miss India SA First Princess 2015, I believe I was handed these honours to be a role model to our next generation, to encourage others to embrace their heritage while making a difference in South Africa,” said Sherianne.

This fourth year law student, at the University of the Witwatersrand, also launched an NPO called Princess Diaries where she delivers motivational talks at schools to inspire the youth. She’s also involved with Queen for a Day, Slipper Day, iKholwa, Siyabonga and numerous other charities.

“These are organisations I hold dear to my heart. I strive to consistently perform community outreach initiatives in my personal capacity to create awareness to the youth of the many victories and opportunities that we are blessed with today through the countless sacrifices made by the great heroes and elders of our past.”

The Miss Heritage SA 2016 will take place at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena at 7pm on Thursday, September 22.
