Speedsters are a nuisance

With reference to the letter published in the Herald, dated April 10 (Speed limit should be more visible).
I have been living along Voortrekker Road for past five years, and the racing of cars, trucks and bikes are terrible.
It is just a matter of time before one of these drivers is going to lose control and crash into one of the many flats or buildings along Voortrekker Road.
People could lose lives because of these speedsters.
Over the past five years we have seen numerous accidents on this road. It is terrible.
The EMPD is visible during the day, but it is normally after 8pm when the racing starts and when people ignore red traffic lights.
Repainting the 50km speed limit signs will not keep the people of Brakpan from speeding.
Editors note: EMP spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago commented as follows:
Both the precinct station and the speed unit will be made aware of the problem.
We shall inform on the outcome of the interventions that will be employed to alleviate or eradicate the problem.
In the interim, a survey of the said location will be conducted, to establish the real cause/factors of the alleged irresponsible and dangerous conduct by some of the motorists.
