Bollywood comes to Carnival
Lovers of all things Bollywood are in for a real treat today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday), when Avikar, Johannesburg’s top Indo Fusion band, pays tribute to the best of Bollywood movie music, in the Carnival City Mardi Gras Theatre.
The Avikar Bollywood Fusion Show will deliver a dazzling 90-minute show, focusing on the greatest Bollywood musical hits from the past 40 years.
Vocalists Soppy and Ridwaan Dawood will be backed by pianist Vikash Maharagh on keyboards, Mergan Naidoo on bass, Benny Ganesh on guitar and Sacheen Singh on drums.
But no Bollywood production is complete without the dancers and the audience will be captivated by the intricacies of Kathak dance styles, disco moves, Bollywood dance, modern contemporary dance and Avikar’s unique presentation of remixes.
The show starts at 8pm and tickets are available at the door.
