Christy Raper emerged victorious at the recent Brakpan Pool Club Championships.
There was an evident buzz on the day as players competed for the club champ title, with numerous trophies up for grabs.
Raper claimed the victory and also won the club’s Best Player Top of the Log and Most Improved Player of the Year at the prize-giving that followed the tournament.
Chris Barnard was the close runner-up for the title and third for Best Player of the Year. He was also named Stats Master.
The mugs title was won by Christo Broodryk and the runner-up was Jacques Olivier.
There were other trophies handed out on the night, which included some light-hearted awards for the club players.
Jarrod Long took the Best Finisher on the Day and the Slow Shooter awards. The Best Woman award went to Megan Brett, and Lourina Odendaal took the Players’ Player trophy. Brakpan’s top 10 players were also recognised at the prize-giving.
Brakpan Pool Club’s top 10 for 2020 are as follows: 1 Christy Raper, 2 Dayne Frederiksen, 3 Chris Barnard, 4 Calie Beirowski, 5 Gareth Smith, 6 Shawn Raper, 7 Tony Maartens, 8 Timmy Amiras, 9 Adriaan Fuhri, 10 Jacque Barnard.
“This year ended on a high and next year looks even more promising,” said the club’s best female player, Megan Brett.
The club also hosts a competition every Friday from 7pm and all players are welcome to join in.
