Giesing and Gerryts take honours at Brakpan Mines Bowling Club
In a year, which was interrupted by Covid-19, the two excelled in their respective singles categories.
Willem Giesing and Martie Gerryts were the big winners at the Brakpan Mines Bowling Club prize-giving recently.
Giesing was the men’s Victor Ludorum, while Gerryts walked away with the women’s prize. Giesing was also part of the selected pairs team, with Ashley van der Muller, who won the award in that category.
Gerryts won the women’s selected pairs, with Rachel Giesing, and women’s drawn pairs, with Debbie Hutton.
Giesing saw off strong competition from John Drysdale to win the men’s singles, while the latter came second.
Martie Wolmarans came second in the women’s singles competition.

• Men’s drawn pairs: 1 John Drysdale/Ernie Stevens, 2 Willem Giesing/Brentley Harrison
• Women’s drawn pairs: 1 Martie Gerryts/Debbie Hutton, 2 Rachel Giesing/Glenda Jones
• Men’s handicap: 1 Stuart Pollock, 2 Willem Giesing
• Women’s handicap: 1 Avril Owen, 2 Martie Gerryts
• Men’s senior singles: 1 Ernie Stevens, 2 John Drysdale
• Men’s singles: 1 Willem Giesing, 2 John Drysdale
• Women’s senior singles: 1 Martie Gerryts, 2 Sarie Kruger
