Tenpin bowling action in the spotlight

The Eastern Gauteng leg of the series is the second part of the six-part tournament.

The second leg of the Tenpin Bowling Association of South African (TBASA) Singles Tournament at Koko’s Bowling Centre in Dalpark, last weekend, saw competitors from all over the country.

Central Gauteng’s Robby Govender emerged victorious in the Gold Division, while Max Phungula took the Silver Division.

The Seniors’ Division (over age 50) was won by Gerhard Stoltz Snr.

“As you can see our sport is an all-inclusive sport, which sees ladies and men competing together, and juniors and seniors participating,” said TBASA president Kiley Cassel.

“The sport is extremely competitive and technical. There is also a fun and enjoyment level to the sport.”

The Eastern Gauteng leg of the series is the second part of the six-part tournament.

The next leg is at the Arnold Classic in Johannesburg, which is scheduled for April.

Results of last weekend’s Singles Tournament are as follows:

· Gold Division: 1 Robby Govender (Central Gauteng), 2 Kimi Govender (Gauteng North), 3 Jimmy Ju (Gauteng North), 4 Emmanuel Castis (Central Gauteng).

· Silver Division: 1 Max Phungula (Central Gauteng), 2 Dheran Bhoola (Midlands – Pietermaritzburg), 3 Gehard Kalmeir (Gauteng North), 4 Freddie van der Merwe (Eastern Gauteng.)

· Seniors Division: 1 Gerhard Stoltz Snr (Gauteng North), 2 Elsabe’ Stoltz (Gauteng North), 3 Stanley Ho (Gauteng North), 4 Cheryl O’Hare (Kwazulu Natal).
