Lee-Roy Frans emerged victorious in the first round of the Evolution Wheel and Tyre South African Drift Championships at the Rock Raceway, on Saturday.
Frans fired the first salvo as he impressed the judges with his control.

The results from the first leg of the drift championships are as follows:
• Gold Cup: 1 Lee-Roy Frans, 2 Tim Stephens, 3 Hannes Frans.
• Silver Cup: 1 Danie Herbst, 2 Dewaldt van Rensburg, 3 Donald Labuschagne.
The next round of the championships will be on March 7 at the Rock Raceway.
