Spurs beat league leaders

“We managed to break Benfica’s winning streak by winning 3-2 and look forward to our next game.”

Brakpan Spurs Football Club’s Premier XI players are enjoying life playing in the Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Seniors Promotion League.

The team ended the winning streak of neighbouring Benfica Football Club when they travelled to the Actonville Stadium on April 27 to face the league leaders.

“It was a tough game, but after we had lost three games in a row, we had to pull up our socks,” said Brakpan Spurs captain Jabulani Munemo.

The team are in sixth position on the league table and next play Nigel’s JST Valentine at the Charl Baard Stadium on May 4.

The match kicks off at 3.30pm.
