Europeans to take on the locals in Brakpan

The Rock Raceway will host the second round of the tour.

The Rock Raceway circuit will burst into life again on February 2 as racing drivers from Europe head to South Africa to partake in the Two-litre Hot-rod Euro Tour.

The Rock Raceway will host the second round of the tour when competitors from the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Germany and Holland take on South Africa’s top hot-rod racing drivers.

The Euro Team will consist of Joey Reynolds (#760) from England, Joey Palmer (#196) from England, Ian Beaumont (# 713) from England, Tom Walker (#209) from England, Adam Maxwell (#76) from Northern Ireland, Frank Nohring (#116) from Germany and Jan Kupper (# 52) from Holland. The South African team will be captained by Gavin Botha (#SA1) while other drivers are Chantelle Lewis (#SA3), Eric Williams (#43), Freek Buitendach (# 9), Marnus du Plessis (#191), Dawie Nel (#264) and Frans van Dyk (#199). The reserve driver for both teams will be Jaco van der Merwe (#255).

A host of other exciting oval categories will be included as supporting classes for the event which will consist of the Ninja class, 125 karts, 1600 stock rods, 1660 modified saloons, super saloons, midgets and Formula N circuit racing.

Patrons are encouraged to come and support their favourite team and racing drivers.

Gates will open at 10am while the main event starts at 4pm.
