Ward achieves his pro wrestling dream

“Dreams can come true,” said Brakpan resident and professional wrestler Juandré Ward (26).

Ward, known as JDX, won the South African Pro Wrestling (SAPW) Heavyweight Championship in July at the Bosveldfees in Ellisras.

The 120kg wrestler said after nine years his hard work has finally paid off.

“It all started when I was seven years old I became the biggest fan,” said JDX.

“The dream just grew on me and when my teachers used to ask me what I wanted to be when I was older I simply said a professional wrestler.

“In 2009 when SAPW opened its official training ground in Brakpan, I was the first student.

“I was just 17 years old.

“As a result of the best class training, which I received over the past nine years, I was able to achieve my goals.

“My message to the children out there is to never ever stop dreaming.

“Never give up.

“As long as you believe in yourself anything is possible.

“If you wish to become the next pro wrestling superstar I would say you have the best chance to achieve your dream at SAPW’s training centre right here in Brakpan.”

JDX recently defended his title for the very first time on August 5 when he defeated Roodepoort’s own Ashton Hay at Montana Family Market in Pretoria.

His next defence of the championship belt is scheduled to take place at Tekkiefees in Vereeniging on September 1.
