After a return to winning ways in the Valke Rugby Union’s Peregrine League against Kempton Park on June 16, Brakpan Rugby Club’s first XV were hoping that they had turned around their misfortunes this season and stay in the hunt for a semi-final place.

A powerhouse East Rand United side from Reiger Park had other ideas though and ran the Brakpan team ragged at Bosman Stadium on June 23, winning 63-21.
