Star-studded Titans set to thrill

If you are a cricket lover there is simply no other place to be on the evening of November 24 than at Benoni’s Sahara Willowmoore Park.

Local cricket fans are in for a treat when the Multiply Titans host their first Ram Slam T20 Challenge match at the Benoni cricket facility against the Dolphins.

The Protea-laden Titans have played four matches in the competition and are unbeaten in all of them.

Coach Mark Boucher’s Titans leapt to the top of the table last week and remain the only unbeaten side with four wins from four matches in the competition.

The Titans’ wins include an eight-wicket win (via the Duckworth-Lewis Method) over the Lions, a 38-run triumph over the Knights, a 61-run win over the Warriors and a seven-wicket mauling of the Cape Cobras.

They have also seen the successful return of Dale Steyn to competitive cricket.

Their team is packed to the rafters with high-quality players including the likes of Protea stars Steyn, AB de Villiers, Quinton de Kock, Farhaan Behardien, Albie Morkel and upcoming fast-bowling sensation Lungelo Ngidi.

The Dolphins, too, have their fair share of quality players to appreciate. Spin wizards Imran Tahir and Keshav Maharaj will try their best to bamboozle the Titans’ batsmen while Robbie Frylinck and Andile Phehlukwayo will offer threats with both bat and ball.

The match will not be televised, so the only way to get in on the top-class action is to be there.

It will also be the first match played under the new, recently erected floodlights at Sahara Park Willowmoore.

The match starts at 6pm and tickets are available at ticketpros.co.za or at the gate.

Spectators seated on the main grandstand are requested to enter at the main entrance to Sahara Park Willowmoore in Bunyan Street/Harpur Avenue.

Spectators seated at either the grass embankment, the northern or southern stands are urged to use the entrance in Range View Road.
