Brace yourself for the Big Top Beat Down

This showdown will see fighters from nine African countries compete in 10 thrilling bouts, including three title bouts.

Carnival City is the battle ground for the second battle event in the newly launched pan-African boxing series Friday Fight Nights.

The exciting event, dubbed the Big Top Beat Down, takes place in the Big Top Arena tonight (Friday, April 28).

This showdown will see fighters from nine African countries compete in 10 thrilling bouts, including three title bouts.

The line-up promises to deliver an incredible show of African boxing prowess (blue corner/red corner):

• 12-round ABU (SADC) Heavyweight Championship bout: Ruann Visser (South Africa) vs Bernard Adie (Kenya).

• 12-round vacant ABU (SADC) Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Thomas “Tommy Gun” Oosthuizen (South Africa) vs Said Mbelwa (Tanzania).

• 10-round international cruiserweight bout: Ilunga Makabu Junior (Democratic Republic of Congo) vs Amour Mzungu (Tanzania).

• Six-round international junior welterweight bout: Herbert Nkabiti (Botswana) vs Willers Baloyi (South Africa).

• Six-round international heavyweight bout: Osbourne Machimani (South Africa) vs Kilola Liboka Didier (Democratic Republic of Congo).

• Six-round international super middleweight bout: Renson Hobyani (South Africa) vs Fiston Kabamba (Democratic Republic of Congo).

• Four-round international junior heavyweight bout: Chris Thompson (South Africa) vs Cristian Okeke (Nigeria).

• Four-round international junior lightweight bout: Sanda Jackson (Uganda) vs Ripfumelp Chukwumbana (South Africa).

• Four-round international junior heavyweight bout: Kobus Fourie (South Africa) vs Lewis Bukasa (Congo Brazzaville).

• Four-round junior lightweight bout: Lunga Sitemela vs Luvo Ntlebi (both South Africa).

Doors to the Big Top Arena will open at 6pm, with the first fight at 6.30.
