A tribute to a racing legend

The Rock Raceway will roar into life tomorrow (Saturday) as all the high octane adrenalin oval drivers will pedal their chariots around the 400m oval in hot pursuit of the ultimate podium spot.

This event will also pay tribute to Harry van der Spuij, an oval track racing legend and crowd favourite.

Known as ‘Dirty Harry’, van der Spuij raced Midgets as well as V8 Sprints, and has helped many local sprint car drivers over the years.

The days also promises plenty of V8 action from the Outlaw V8 Sprints cars.

A host of Oval Saloons classes will also be racing, including the 1600 Stock Rods, 1660 Modified Saloons, 2L Hotrods, Lexus Class and Super Saloons.

Open wheelers will include the Micro Midgets, and Formula 2 Midgets

There will also be loads of high speed action from the Formula N circuit cars.

Gates open at 10am and racing starts at 4pm.
