Beneke, who rides for Telkom, finished in a great time of 02:40:53.
“All my hard work has paid off, it took commitment, discipline and determination for me to achieve my desired goal today,” said Beneke.
“I had set myself a bench mark of three hours to finish the race but I’m glad I’ve outdone myself and went under that set time.”
The event raises funds for genetic retinal research.
Coming second across the finish line was Morne van Niekerk and third was Johannes Christian Nel.
The first junior home was Joshua Lubbe and the ladies trophy was won by Heidi Dalton fresh from her 2017 SA Champs win.
The first tandem pair was Samuel de Swardt and Craig Kalamer, and the first mixed tandem pair was Suzan Bowman and Graeme Cronje.
