Playing for fun and charity

Anyone is welcome to join the team at practise and new team members will be selected before the next game.

A new and exciting team of rugby players from the local community has recently been established, the Joker Provoker Team.

The team is managed by Brakpan-based company Joker Towing and at the moment has 24 players who aim to play 15-a-side matches for fun and for charity.

Anyone is welcome to join the team at practise and new team members will be selected before the next game.

The team recently got things going at the Brakpan Rugby Club at Bosman Stadium against the Premier Bulldozers and won 14-8.

The match served as a fund-raiser and R6 500 was raised and later handed over to Mother’s Nest, a home for abused children, in Brenthurst.

Sponsorship came from Joker Towing, Premier Bulldozers and Pavillion Brakpan Rugby Club.
