Successful season overall for United

The Eastern Cricket Union’s 2015/2016 season has come to an end and it was quite a successful season for Brakpan’s United Cricket Club.

The club’s Premier League XI lost only two games out of 18 and finished second on the log at the end of the season, just missing out on first place due to net run-rate.

They played against Kempton Park in the play-off semi-final and lost – a good improvement from the previous season’s fourth place finish.

The club’s Promotion League team finished in fifth place after having an excellent first half of the season.

They were docked eight points due to penalties in the second half of their season.

United’s Directors League XI finished in sixth place – a good effort from a young team most of whom were new to senior league cricket.

The Presidents League team finished in seventh place after having a good first half of the season, but unfortunately for them they had to abandon most of their second half games.

The young Colts team finished in seventh position this season – another good effort from a young team playing in their first season of senior club cricket.

United’s Saturday First League team finished in first place after losing just two out of 18 games during the season.

The club’s Women’s League team finished in first place after going unbeaten throughout the season ending 12 points clear at the top of the log.
