Incredible drifting talent at The Rock
The Rock Raceway circuit was the scene of the first round of the 2014 Cambees Midas Drift Championships, on Saturday, February 1, and spectators were in for a treat of tyre-smoking, exhaust blaring drifting action.
Twenty-eight drift cars took part in the first drifting event of the season, where experienced and young drifters battled it out.
A number of drivers, like Larry Smith, Clare Vale and Alfred White had to withdraw due to technical problems.
In the Silver Cup it was Issufo Ussuman who claimed the number one position, followed by Shain Ferreira in second and Mohammed Yusuf in third place.
Hannes Frans was the overall victor in the Gold Cup, followed by Fred Cooper Junior and Tim Stephens in third.
Between the excitement of the Gold and Silver cups, the Scuderia Italia Folco Stunt Team entertained the Rock Raceway faithful with a display that left a number of people in the crowd absolutely gob-smacked.
