Dalpark put up better fight

Things in the Benoni South Local Football Association (BSLFA) Division One have not quite gone to plan for coach Brian Fray’s Dalpark FC team and, on Saturday, November 16, the team suffered another defeat.

The team from Dalpark took on the league leaders, Tin Cats, at Actonville Stadium, and were defeated 2-1 in a much better performance.

“The boys gave a good account of themselves and I am very happy with the way the team performed,” said Fray.

“I have signed some new players and they did well in their first game for the team.”

The coach added that he believes the team could have won the match had it not been for some poor officiating from the match officials.

The team had two players sent off in the second half and that cost them the win.

Frey added that Dalpark FC is not the only team complaining about poor referee decisions and another team nearly got into a fight with the officials a few weeks ago.

“I really hope the league can sort out this problem as soon as possible,” he said.
