About 170 bodybuilders entered the championships and members of the Fithealth Gym in Dersley Park achieved well.
Fithealth Gym is owned and run by Deon Scheepers, a former Mr Brakpan (1968), South African record holder (with 24 South African titles) and former Mr Universe (1991).
Five members entered from Fithealth and three of these are Brakpan residents.
Justin Claasen placed third in the under 80kg category, while Raymond Nortjé claimed first place in the over 80kg division.
He was followed by his brother, Werner, who placed second in the over 80kg weight category.
André Botha, also from Brakpan, placed second in the over 50-year-old category, while his son, Dawayne, placed second in the Men’s Fitness Physique category.
The bodybuilders will next compete at the South African championships, on September 28, at Gold Reef City.
