Give smokers back their rights

Smoking helps smokers through this stressful time.

Leslie writes by email:

I am a smoker and cigarettes are being sold on the black market for ridiculous prices of between R180 and R200 a box.

They are brands I’ve never heard of in my life.

People are resorting to buying this cheap stuff as the government refuses to lift the ban on selling cigarettes.

I do not buy these cigarettes as I refuse to be ripped off.

All we smokers ask is that our rights as smokers be returned.

We were abiding by the rules of lockdown, but you can’t blame people looking for smokes as they get nicotine cravings.

Give us our rights back and we will continue to buy legit cigarettes from shops and stay indoors to enjoy our smokes.
