Bad service at Brakpan Licensing Department

We will go to Boksburg where I applied for and got my licence without any problems.

The Brakpan Licensing Department must be the worst in South Africa.

Two months ago my wife went there to renew her driver’s licence.

The person at the enquiries desk was rude and unhelpful.

My wife then had to stand in a queue for two hours at 78 years old before she could get a seat.

Finally, after three and a half hours, she was called to the fingerprint desk at which there were four people, but only one operating for in excess of 60 people.

Fast forward to the beginning of February when we went to collect.

My wife was told she was early, however, the lady looked it up on the computer and advised us that her fingerprints were rejected.

This after no notification during the two-month wait.

She was then sent to the fingerprint desk where one operator was eating a packet of crisps while serving the applicants.

When he was finished with one applicant my wife went forward only to be waved away with a gesture to go to the other operator who was busy.

He was rude in the extreme.

The Brakpan Licensing Department sucks.

We will go to Boksburg where I applied for my licence and got my licence without any problems.

Editor’s note: Comment is awaited from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM).
