It’s chaos at the clinic

Poor service from the Brakpan Clinic is too much to handle for their clients.

‘Just fed up’ writes by email:

I’m not one to complain easily, but I think this is a bit too much to handle.

I have been a patient at the Brakpan Clinic for quite some time and I feel that we are considered a herd of cattle and not human beings.

We don’t expect five-star treatment, but guys we come to the clinic because we need to and not as a pass time.

One gets to the clinic and it’s chaos. You don’t know where to start.

You leave your card at the window and pray that you get your file before your turn arrives.

The confusion gets worse when you cannot figure out who is before you or after you in the queue.

There was for a while a number system whereby patients were given a number which seemed to make sense, but yes every month the rules change.

My biggest concern, however, is not the total chaos, but the fact that you stand from one queue to the next and the next and the next and eventually you reach the point where you are to get your medication, only to be told that there is no stock.

My question here is why was I given an appointment to come on a certain date and time, why do I have to be in a queue for two hours to do my blood pressure and then queue again for another two hours to be seen by the sister in charge and then to be told there’s no stock?

This doesn’t stop here. You are further told to come next week when there ‘might’ be stock.

I was there again the next week and again the next and still no medication.

My concern is that we can’t be coming up and down and not getting any medication.

We do have other things to do.

Can someone maybe comment or give us answers as to how we can overcome this situation?

I didn’t experience this problem when Dr Sarang was attending to the patients, so why now?
