Pair come to the rescue of drunk driver

''Resident'' writes by email: During the early morning hours of November 8, I was getting ready for bed when I heard a noise outside in the street (corner of Voortrekker Road and Curry Street).

There was a lady screaming at a man in a white VW car.

She was screaming ”climb out of the car, climb out of the car!”

He didn’t want to get out of the car.

It was clear they were both very drunk and she eventually stumbled up the road, heading towards Dalview.

The man was still sitting in the car … the robot was changing, but he was still sitting, and very drunk.

A gold car stopped behind him and waited for the robot to change.

He hooted at the white car, and the drunk driver then moved the car slightly out of the way.

The gold car drove past, but then made a u-turn to see why the man was not driving.

This man very kindly then told the drunk man to get into the back seat and offered to drive him home.

The lady passenger in the gold car followed behind them.

I just want to say thank you to these good helpers.
